Odem Bands Schedule Week of 8/29/2016 – Mandatory Parent Meeting

This week is going to be an exciting week in Odem with a lot going on! First we’ll be having our Annual Mandatory Band Parent Meeting for all band students Grades 7-12 at the Odem Cafetorium tomorrow (Monday) night at 6pm. We need at least one parent for every student to be present as we cover policies and sign-ups for our concession stands. I will also be giving a brief overview on our proposed HS trip to Florida in 2018. The meeting should last 30-45 minutes. Please make sure to plan to attend, or if you cannot, please meet with me individually in the next week.

The biggest event of the week though will be our first home football game of the year versus Mathis, which will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest. We are anticipating a capacity crowd for this event and will need plenty of help in all aspects of our program that night. The pep rally that day is scheduled to be at Dairy Queen after school at 4pm. Students may travel there on their own or there will be a bus to shuttle students and instruments there as well. My understanding is that they will be providing free ice cream at that rally. In between all of that there are our usual practices and day to day items to take care of. Please check the schedule day by day this week to see what items affect your students.

Monday:     6pm Mandatory Parent Meeting – Cafetorium

                  6:45pm-8:30pm HS Marching Practice

Tuesday: No events

Wednesday: 5pm-6:30pm HS Marching Practice

                    Beginning Students Need Instruments at School

Thursday:    6:30pm-8:30pm HS Marching Practice

Friday:         4pm Pep Rally at Dairy Queen

                    5:30pm Band Students at Band Hall (Tentative, due to televising of game this may need changed)

                    7:30pm Game Begins

                    ~10:15pm Game Ends

Saturday:     Tentative Stadium Cleanup 9am
