Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 9/9/2024
The year is quickly flying by here, with us beginning the 5th week of school! This week, we will continue the program of rehearsals for the high school band as we prepare for our contests. Our game this week is Home vs. Aransas Pass on Friday. Last week, letters were sent home with information on the spots for volunteering for the concession stand at football games. We ask that you please cover the spot yourself, or if you can’t make it, please get someone to fill in for you.

(owlbandboosters AT gmail.com) We will also have our monthly booster meeting on Tuesday evening at 7 pm in the HS Cafetorium. Please consider coming and getting involved! All parents with kids in the band program in grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate!
As quickly as this time has already passed, we’re going to be at our invitational marching contest before we know it. The Owl Marching Invitational on September 28th, and we need a parent/volunteer for each student to please help run the contest. We will also host the UIL Area 2A Marching Contest on November 2nd. Please help us make plans for those! We now have our Sign-Up Genius live for people to sign up for a spot to help! https://tinyurl.com/3vmmu8wz For our invitational, 14 bands have signed up, so we will need every bit of help we can get that day! I anticipate the 2A Area contest will be about the same number of bands as last year, meaning a prelims and finals round is likely. In the past couple of years this has become one of our most successful fundraisers, please help us continue that.
Saturday we have students from the HS Band auditioning for the All-Region Jazz Bands. Those auditions will take place at Seale Junior High in Robstown. We’ll need students at the HS by 8 am, and we’ll return around 1 pm. Students should bring money for lunch, we’ll stop on the way home.
Fees for both high school and 7th/8th Grade JH Band students are currently past due. See the section below for more information on those. If they haven’t been turned in, please contact us so we know when to expect them. (Please contact Mr. Williams for JH questions williamsn AT oeisd.org) We’ll work with financial difficulties, and we can work to figure out a payment plan in those instances. We need to bring in the missing fees as soon as possible to order all the supplies for the students!
We will have some extra show shirts for sale if you are interested. We have a selection of most sizes available for $30 for S-XL, $32 for XXL, and $34 for XXXL. Please contact me if you’re interested to verify we have one in the size you are seeking. Checks or Money Orders only to OEISD.

JH Band
7th/8th Grade Band Students – $30
HS Band
Please Note: HS Band Members who still owe fees have been given statements about them; please help us get those turned in as soon as possible. We have about $2,600 still outstanding from these fees!
$80 for All Returning Marchers Except Guard who don’t need shoes.
OR $125 (total) for Freshmen and Anyone who needs shoes
$580 in Total for Guard (Most paid only the $300 in May) Guard does not pay the other fees.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions about fees or need to work out a payment plan. We work with families on these as much as possible but need to get them in so we may order supplies for the marching season. We ONLY accept checks or money orders in the band halls. Please do not send cash!
