Odem Bands Schedule: Week of September 4th, 2017
I hope this finds everyone safe and ready to begin the school year. Thank you for your patience as we’ve adjusted this past week due to the hurricane recovery. The school year begins for OEISD on Tuesday, and we’ll have our first game versus Mathis on Friday at home. We still need a large number of volunteers to help out with that game. If you can help man the concession stands that evening we would very much appreciate it. Contact Patrick Hammack or another booster officer for more information.
Tomorrow (Monday) from 6pm-8pm we will have a marching only rehearsal at the parking lot. Students should arrive just beforehand and please not come to the high school. We will have a new set card for students for the evening rehearsal. Students should bring water with them for this rehearsal that will hopefully let us get back on track with our preparations for this weeks game and our contest season. It is imperative we have all students that are on the field in attendance. Front Ensemble students have the evening off since their instruments are not going to be accessible.
Tuesday evening will be our monthly Booster meeting in the New HS Secondary Room at 7pm. We would encourage parents to attend at least this one meeting if they can. We will have our annual parent meeting in the next couple weeks, but we’re going to wait until we have been able to settle down from this past week first to reschedule. At this meeting I’ll update parents on trip information for this coming year and payments may be made. We understand that the hurricane created additional expenses for pretty much every family, if you need to postpone a payment this month please speak with me.
Our annual Instrument Drive night for Beginning Band students, or anyone else who needs an instrument or upgrade, will be held Wednesday from 4:30pm-7:30pm at the OJH Band Hall (Old Band Hall). Hillje Music will setup rentals and sales this evening.
Wednesday from 5pm-6pm, and Thursday from 6:30pm-8:30pm we will have rehearsals with the high school band. Of course Friday is Game Day for us!

Friday: Odem vs Mathis (Home)
5:00pm – Students Report to Band Hall
7:30pm – Game Starts
