Odem Bands Week of 5/15/2017
It’s hard to believe, but we have made it to the end of the school year already! This will be the final week of school for most of the students. I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for making the 2016-2017 school year very successful for the Odem Bands! Thank you for attending our Spring Concerts the past couple of weeks!
This week we have no events scheduled. Please note that we will be asking students in JH to bring their instruments home on Wednesday. They should not bring them back on Thursday or Friday as we will be wrapping up our inventory and other items those days. A couple of the days this week will have events during their classes, but students should presume we are playing each day. High School students will rehearse through Thursday most likely as we must prepare for Graduation the following week on the 26th. We also ask that the students of the OJH Symphonic Winds also join us for that performance. With graduating seniors departing it’s important we have students to fill their spots!
Graduation rehearsal on the 26th will be at 5pm in the Band Hall. We will feed the students pizza following their rehearsal. Graduation begins at 8pm at Owl Stadium.
Attached to this e-mail is another copy of our summer rental agreement for any school instruments that are taken home over the summer. Once we have received this signed form we will send the instruments home with the students so that they may practice.
The OJH Spring Schlitterbahn trip will be held on the 22nd of May. Please make sure those trips are paid in full by the dates Mr. Williams has given. We need to cut the checks for tickets and meals by the end of this week for the trip!

May 31st and June 1st: Percussion rehearsals, more information TBA
July 5-9: Drum Major Camp
July 11: Leadership Training Day (Section Leaders, Drum Majors, Guard Captains)
July 12-14th: Guard and Drumline/Front Ensemble Camps (Home)
July 24th: Summer Band Begins
Thank you once again for making our year so successful! We wish our graduating seniors and their families the best of luck as they move onto their future plans! We’ll look forward to hearing from them in the future and seeing all of our returning students this fall!
