Greetings, I hope this message finds everyone staying warm! This week is a light one for the students in the bands, but we will have an evening Cleveland Rehearsal on Thursday. All participants need to be attending these rehearsals, and working to learn the music for the performance as soon as possible. We do have Spring Band Fees coming due

Happy New Year! This week we are happy to welcome students back and begin working on our spring event preparations. The spring is a busy time of year for our students with just about every activity, and band is of course no exception! We would like to begin this week to congratulate the members of the Odem JH and Odem HS Bands who earned spots in the All-Region Bands this week! On Tuesday, Odem JH had 24 students earn spots in the region bands, the most of any in our conference across our two sites! Additionally, 5 students earned 1stChair in their sections!

This week is our final week before Thanksgiving Break, and remains a busy one! First we have HS Band Placement auditions this week in class. Students must record their placement exam by Thursday after school for a grade. Tuesday evening we will be holding our monthly Band Booster meeting at 7pm in the Cafetorium. This week is Veteran’s Day, our first week of Playoffs, and we’ll be working with the HS to prepare for their Winter Concert and Region Auditions as well. JH is currently preparing for their region auditions as well, so while marching contests are finished, it will still be a busy week!  Friday the district will host our Annual Veteran’s Day

I would like to begin this week by congratulating The Spirit of OHS on what was undoubtedly their best performance of the season yesterday!!! Though we didn’t make finals, they placed 13th out of 33 bands – ahead of 20 other bands! That was despite starting as the second band and having to be at the school by 4am! They did
