This week Odem will play Taft at home for our Friday night game. I will send out the Presale Code for parents of band students to use on Remind to them soon after sending this. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday – I highly recommend you purchase before then as I anticipate this will be a sold-out crowd for our rivalry game. The site to purchase tickets is here: https://odemedroy.hometownticketing.com/embed/all Depending on the outcome of Friday’s game, and remaining district play, we may have one last home game on November 6^th. 

Please note on November 7^th from 12pm-3pm (slight change of time) we will be having a mock-contest for the band at Owl Stadium. We will bring in 3 judges to watch and critique a full run-through of the show, and then help us clean errors they see. This will be a mandatory event for all HS band students who are in-person/participating in marching currently. Due to circumstances with COVID-19 we are only doing UIL contests and not our usual pre-contest schedule. Region will be held on 11/21 at Calallen HS, and Area contest will be held on 12/5 at the same location. 

At the end of this week we are going to order show shirts for our band students for this marching season. For students they will need to pay $15 for their shirt. Parents and extras should fill out the attached form (http://www.odembands.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/2020-Marching-Band-Tshirt-Order-Form.pdf) and return it with $20 for S-XL, and $2 per additional size above that ($22 for 2XL, $24 for 3XL). 

Concession Stand Help Needed!

On Friday we need six to eight additional parents to help at the concession stand on Friday. We expect our home side to sell out of the allowable capacity this week. Please help us out there! With COVID concerns that we know many have, we have chosen not to sign every parent up like we did last year, and really need the help of volunteers. Booster Meeting

Tuesday night we will hold our monthly Owl Band Booster Meeting at the Junior High Band Hall. We have chosen to use that space because it is a bit larger and easier to manage with protocols. All attending the meeting must wear a face mask at all times (covering both mouth and nose) and will be screened for temperatures prior to entry to the meeting. We have a lot to discuss with the board and our first in-person meeting since last March! 

We encourage all parents with students in Grades 6-12 Band to join and participate with the boosters. We are looking to take on a few larger projects and need your help to do so!
