We would like to begin this week by congratulating Landon Garza and Samarra Medina for earning spots in the All-Region Jazz bands. Landon earned 2^nd chair and advances to the Area/State round that he’ll record for later this month. Especially given this audition puts all of our students in Class 1A-4A together this has gotten to be a very competitive event that we’re proud of their accomplishments there! Our region hopes to try and arrange for a region jazz clinic/concert later in the spring.

This week is a bye week for the football team, and consequently a lighter week for us performance wise. Our only evening events this week will be our rehearsals. Students will receive their progress reports this week. Please help us encourage them to get in any missing assignments. Eligibility from this six-weeks will affect Area Marching Contest on December 5^th. 

Please note on November 7^th from 12pm-3pm we will be having a mock-contest for the band at Owl Stadium. We will bring in 3 judges to watch and critique a full run-through of the show, and then help us clean errors they see. This will be a mandatory event for all HS band students who are in-person/participating in marching currently. Due to circumstances with COVID-19 we are only doing UIL contests and not our usual pre-contest schedule. Region will be held on 11/21 at Calallen HS, and Area contest will be held on 12/5 at the same location. 

Tomorrow we are going to order show shirts for our band students for this marching season. For students they will need to pay $15 for their shirt. Parents and extras should fill out the linked form and return it with $20 for S-XL, and $2 per additional size above that ($22 for 2XL, $24 for 3XL).
