We would like to begin this week by congratulating The Spirit of OHS on their outstanding performance yesterday at the UIL Area E Marching Band Championships! For the 5th Consecutive time they have been named an Area Finalist Band! Ultimately, they finished 7th in the contest, but in a normal year would have had a finals round to compete one last time.

This week brings us to the week of the UIL Area E 3A Marching Contest that will be held at Calallen HS. The Spirit of OHS performs at 11am in the first block of bands that begins at 10am. The block concludes at noon when the stadium will be cleared of fans and sanitized for the next block. For our

They now hold the longest streak out of the 3A High Schools in our region! Their success at that

This week is set to be a very busy week for the Odem Bands! The main event is that UIL Region Marching Contest will be Saturday. For this contest there is a limit of 100 tickets per school for the event. I’m including more information in the section below, but tickets will be held at OEISD Business Office for purchase.

This week the HS Band will begin making our final preparations towards Region Marching Contest on November 21st. Please note that UIL Region Marching Contest is a required and graded event that date, even with it being on the break students must be in attendance! We would like to begin this week by congratulating Landon Garza and Samarra Medina for earning spots in the All-Region Jazz bands. Landon earned 2nd chair and advances to the Area/State round that he’ll record for later this month. Especially given this audition puts all of our students in Class 1A-4A together this has gotten to be a very competitive event

This week we will be having our Senior Band Member Recognition night during half-time. We will march our half-time show and then bring parents out to recognize the seniors. This week we add another group of students to in-person learning at the JH and HS. Please ensure that those students come with their instrument and supplies to the first day. We will be going through some first day procedures, but mostly getting right into our normal classwork. Each band student (other than percussion) has been issued a special slitted
