Odem Bands

There are no scheduled events this week for the Odem Bands, but we do have colorguard practices that have started up, as well as we will be starting leadership meetings tomorrow after school (and Wednesday) for any students interested in being a section leader or a drum major next year. Drum Major/Guard Auditions will be held on May 5th after school. 

This will be a quick start to our week, as have our Pre-UIL Concert tomorrow (Monday) at 5 pm in the HS Cafetorium. We are starting with the JH Concert Band, then the JH Symphonic Winds, HS Symphonic Band, and finally HS Wind Ensemble. The earlier start time is necessary to help out with getting our students to JH softball/baseball

We hope this message finds everyone well and rested from Spring Break! Now that we are back we begin the push to the end of the year which will be quite busy! Students will get their progress report grades this week, please help encourage them on their coursework, particularly HS and Symphonic Winds members have events in April and May

This is the final week before Spring Break, but we do have a few things to take note of. Odem Band Students Grades 6-12 will have a great opportunity tomorrow when the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Symphonic Winds comes to perform in our Cafetorium! Our students will be released to attend the performance and return to class during 5th Period

Last week we had a large number of Odem students who participated in the UIL Region Solo and Ensemble Contest in Robstown. There we saw a fantastic set of results for our students, including 7 Odem JH Soloist Medalists, 6 Odem JH Ensemble Medalists, 1 Odem HS Bronze Solo Medalist, 6 Odem HS Gold Soloist Medalists, and 15 Odem HS

This week will be a moderately busy one for us with the bands. First off, we will have our monthly Owl Band Booster Meeting Tuesday night at 7pm in the OHS Cafetorium. We need several new officers for this coming year, and I encourage any/all parents of Odem Band Students from Grade 6-11 to please consider coming and getting involved!

This week, we will hold our annual Solo and Ensemble Recital on February 16th at 6:00pm. That is mandatory for HS Applied Music students/HS Ensemble members. We use this as a great chance for students to be prepared for their UIL Region performances the following week!  We are awaiting our performance schedule for Solo and Ensemble, but will share that as

Please note that Spring Band Fees of $25 for Grades 7-12 students should be paid by February 1st, as well as any outstanding fall band fees. The Spring Band Fee goes towards helping pay for Spring Expenses, Clinicians, etc. that come up
